Warranty Coverage at JDM West Coast
JDM West Coast provides a warranty for its products to ensure customer satisfaction and product reliability. Below are the details of the warranty coverage we offer for our products sold through jdmwestcoast.com.
Engine and Transmission Warranty
- Used Replacement Engines: Covered by a 90-day warranty, unless specified otherwise on the sales receipt.
- Used Performance Engines (including turbo, VTEC, i-VTEC, VVT, VVTi, GTE): Covered by a 30-day warranty, unless specified otherwise.
- Rotary Engines (Mazda RX-7, RX-8, 13B, 13BT/13BTT/20B): Not covered by warranty.
- Used Performance Transmissions: Covered by a 30-day warranty.
- Used Replacement Transmissions: Covered by a 90-day warranty, unless specified otherwise.

Parts are sold as-is with no warranty coverage.
Limited Warranty Coverage
The limited warranty covers all internal engine parts, including pistons, rings, bearings, and other listed components. The engine block, cylinder walls, and cylinder head are also covered against cracks or distortions.
Exclusions from Warranty
External parts attached to the engines, such as manifolds, carburetors, starters, emission devices, and electronic parts, are not covered. The warranty does not cover any engine or transmission failures due to negligence or improper installation.
Claim Procedure for Defective Products
To file a claim for a defective product, a detailed written description, along with pictures and videos from a certified mechanic, is required. JDM West Coast will verify the claim with the mechanic before proceeding with a refund or replacement.
Installation and Warranty Claims
For warranty claims, a valid mechanic's report is required. Installation by a certified mechanic is recommended to ensure warranty validity. Failure to comply with professional installation standards may void the warranty.
Returns
In the unlikely event that the item needs to be returned, it must be in the same condition it was sold and fully assembled. Please keep all of the unwanted parts/components that you have taken off of the item for the period of the warranty. We must receive all of the parts that were included in the sale for the warranty to be valid. (THE RETURNED ITEM MUST MATCH THE ORIGINAL PICTURES)"
