Warranty & Installation Terms

Engines and transmissions must be installed within the warranty period by a licensed and certified technician.

Any modification to the engine or transmission will void the warranty. This includes forced induction or performance modifications such as nitrous, alcohol injection, turbochargers, superchargers, aftermarket ECU upgrades, or any modification for which the engine was not originally designed.

The warranty covers internal parts only. For engines, coverage applies to the internal parts of the engine block and cylinder head(s). For transmissions, coverage applies to the transmission itself.

The warranty does not cover exterior engine or transmission parts, accessories, or related components. This includes clutches, flywheels, flex plates, distributors, coil packs, ignitors, alternators, A/C pumps, timing belts, power steering pumps, oil pumps, water pumps, solenoids, sensors, valve covers, oil pans, manifolds, fuel system components, turbochargers, superchargers, and torque converters.

If an engine block, cylinder head, or transmission is found to be defective, JDM West Coast may repair or replace the defective item at our discretion. There are no refunds, only replacements.

We recommend inspecting the timing belt and water pump before installation and replacing them if needed. If the timing belt is installed incorrectly or is not set to factory specifications, and this causes engine failure or malfunction, the warranty will be void.

If the engine or transmission is claimed to be defective, it must be returned in the same condition it was sold. We must also be able to verify proper installation. We will not accept disassembled engines or transmissions, items with missing parts or accessories, or items that have been altered.

Removal or swapping of cylinder heads, crankshaft, rods, pistons, camshafts, gears, or transmission casing will void the warranty.

JDM West Coast will NOT be held responsible for the failure of emissions or smog test. Please verify with your local authorities if the engine passes smog and emissions regulations in your city. We are not responsible for any labor issues or held accountable for labor costs. Please check with your certified mechanic that your motor or transmission will fit correctly. ALL SALES ARE FINAL.
